Description

Indulge in the irresistible Grasshopper Cake, a decadent dessert featuring layers of minty cake, rich chocolate fudge, and a creamy creme de menthe-infused topping. Perfect for holidays like Christmas or St. Patrick's Day, this cake brings together the classic combination of chocolate and mint for a crowd-pleasing treat that's sure to impress!

Ingredients

  • White cake mix (Duncan Hines recommended)
  • All-purpose flour
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil
  • Egg whites
  • Creme de menthe (or syrup for a non-alcoholic version)
  • Hot fudge
  • Cool Whip (extra creamy variety)
  • Andes Mints (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, flour, water, oil, and egg whites. Beat for 2 minutes, then stir in the creme de menthe.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 28-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely.
  • Once cooled, spread the hot fudge over the cake.
  • Fold the creme de menthe into the Cool Whip and spread this minty topping over the fudge layer.
  • Refrigerate for a few hours before serving. Garnish with Andes mints if desired.

Notes

  • For a family-friendly version, use creme de menthe syrup instead of the alcoholic liqueur.
  • If you prefer, garnish with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips instead of Andes mints.
  • This cake is even better after chilling for a few hours or overnight.
