Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes (Russet, Yukon Gold, or red potatoes)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, or your favorite)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Slice the Potatoes – Place each potato between two wooden spoons or chopsticks and slice thinly, stopping just before cutting all the way through.
3️⃣ Prepare Garlic Butter – Mix the minced garlic with melted butter. Brush generously over the potatoes, ensuring it seeps into the slices. Season with salt and black pepper.
4️⃣ Bake the Potatoes – Place the potatoes on the baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes until crispy and tender.
5️⃣ Add the Cheese – Sprinkle shredded cheese over and between the slices. Bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
6️⃣ Serve – Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and serve hot!
Notes
- Extra Crispy Tip – Brushing the potatoes again with butter halfway through baking enhances crispiness.
- Spicy Kick – Add chili flakes or jalapeños for some heat.
- Herb Infusion – Sprinkle fresh thyme or rosemary for extra aroma.
- Dairy-Free Option – Use dairy-free cheese and substitute butter with olive oil.
