Description

These stuffed mushrooms are a flavorful, crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring tender cremini mushroom caps filled with a creamy, cheesy, and garlicky filling. Baked to golden perfection, they’re easy to make and customizable with different cheeses, herbs, and meats. Perfect for any gathering!

Ingredients

  • Cremini mushrooms (or baby bella mushrooms)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans (optional, for texture)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  • Prepare mushrooms: Remove stems and finely chop them.
  • Sauté filling: In a pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped mushroom stems, onion, and garlic for 5-7 minutes. Let cool.
  • Mix filling: Combine the cooled mixture with cream cheese, Parmesan, parsley, pecans, salt, and pepper.
  • Fill mushrooms: Spoon the mixture into each mushroom cap and arrange them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and slightly crispy on top.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add red pepper flakes or jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Swap Parmesan for cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyere for a different flavor.
  • To keep mushrooms from getting soggy, bake them on a wire rack to allow excess moisture to drain.
