Ingredients
- 2 firm bananas (slightly underripe)
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). -
Prepare the Bananas:
Peel the bananas and slice them thinly, about 1/8 inch thick. Try to keep the slices even for consistent cooking. -
Coat the Banana Slices:
In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together. In another bowl, melt the coconut oil or butter. Dip the banana slices into the melted coconut oil or butter, ensuring each slice is coated. Then, sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the banana slices. -
Air Fry the Banana Chips:
Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through for even cooking. Keep an eye on them towards the end to prevent burning. -
Cool and Serve:
Once the banana chips are golden and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes. Enjoy immediately, or store for later!
Notes
- For a sweet-salty combo: Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the banana chips after air frying.
- Add a spicy kick: Add a dash of cayenne pepper to the cinnamon-sugar mix.
- For extra indulgence: Drizzle with melted dark chocolate after the chips cool.
