Description

This Decadent Chocolate Ricotta Tiramisu is an indulgent twist on the classic Italian dessert. With layers of creamy chocolate ricotta, espresso-soaked ladyfingers, and a rich chocolate ganache, this no-bake treat is perfect for any special occasion. Simple to prepare and full of luxurious flavors, it’s a must-try for chocolate lovers!

Ingredients

For the Layers:

  • Ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • Strong brewed espresso (cooled)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder

For the Ricotta Cream:

  • Ricotta cheese (smooth and creamy)
  • Mascarpone cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Ganache:

  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate
  • Heavy cream

Optional Toppings:

  • Shaved chocolate or chocolate curls
  • Whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Ganache: In a heatproof bowl, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. Make the Ricotta Cream: Beat the ricotta, mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Chill for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Assemble the Tiramisu: Dip ladyfingers into cooled espresso and arrange them in a dish. Spread half of the ricotta cream over the ladyfingers, drizzle with half the chocolate ganache, and dust with cocoa powder. Repeat the layers.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Serve: Garnish with shaved chocolate or whipped cream before serving.

Notes

  • Add a splash of coffee liqueur or amaretto to the espresso for extra depth.
  • For added texture, sprinkle crushed hazelnuts or almonds between layers.
  • Use sugar-free sweeteners and dark chocolate for a lower-sugar version.
  • For a fruity twist, add raspberries or strawberries between layers.
  • If you prefer, use melted chocolate instead of ganache for a quicker alternative.
