Description

Cheesy Garlic Cruffins are a delicious blend of crispy, garlicky crust and a soft, cheesy center, all wrapped in a muffin shape. Made with crescent roll dough, garlic butter, and cheddar cheese, these cruffins are perfect for breakfast, a savory snack, or as a side dish. Serve them with marinara or ranch for dipping, and watch them become a family favorite!

Ingredients

For the Cruffins:

  • 3 crescent roll sheets
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon chives (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 3 cups cheddar cheese (shredded, divided)

For the Garlic Butter Topping:

  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon chives (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 12-cup muffin tin with nonstick spray.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll each crescent roll dough sheet into a 12x16 inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Make Garlic Butter: Mix the softened butter, chives, and garlic in a small bowl until smooth.
  4. Assemble the Cruffins: Spread one-third of the garlic butter mixture over one sheet of dough. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese evenly over the dough. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge to form a log. Cut the log in half, then slice each half lengthwise into four dough sections. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  5. Shape and Bake: Twist each dough section into a spiral with the cut sides facing outward, and place into the prepared muffin tin. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Prepare Garlic Butter Topping: While the cruffins bake, melt the remaining butter and mix in the minced garlic, chives, and kosher salt.
  7. Finish the Cruffins: Once baked, remove from the oven and brush the cruffins with the garlic butter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Different Cheeses: Swap out cheddar for mozzarella, Parmesan, or a blend of your favorite cheeses.
  • Add Extra Toppings: Try adding crushed red pepper flakes, herbs, or bacon bits for added flavor.
